Building on Our Success

The Native Youth Centre is being developed in Vancouver by the Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) in partnership with Native youth. The LEED certified, 50,000 sq. ft. building will improve opportunities for youth and be a community landmark. It will consolidate and expand upon our existing programs to create an effective continuum of support, educational, training, artistic, cultural, and employment programs that will help youth to create positive change in their lives.

Help our funding partners raise funds for the NYC!

We have ongoing partnerships with a few key partners who are helping to raise funds and awareness about the Native Youth Centre.  Please support these initiatives if you can by purchasing books, participating in the auction, or spreading the word amongst your networks.

Bentwood Box Auction was a fantastic success! - Thank you to the Lattimer Gallery for hosting the fundraiser, the 18 artists who generously shared their creativity, time, and skills, and to those who purchased a bentwood box.  Together we raised almost $22,000 to support UNYA's Native Youth Centre capital campaign.  Missed out?  You can see the artists names, pics of the boxes, and how much they sold for by clicking here.   The Lattimer Gallery has committed to hosting this unique auction in December 2012 and 2013.  Next year we hope to find a few generous donors who will match all or part of the funds raised through this great initiative.

Sales of First Nations 101 book is benefitting UNYA!
Lynda Gray has committed to donating $1 from the sale of every First Nations 101 book to UNYA's Native Youth Centre capital campaign.  Between June and December 2011 she sold 3,000 books, which meant she presented us with a $3,000 cheque!  Our Board of Directors encourages everyone to check out and order this great book at www.firstnations101.com
