The Native Youth Centre will create benefits beyond its doors through program provision, job creation, local purchasing, increased partnerships, and decreased social costs. Everyone can benefit from and contribute to the success of this important community initiative.
The Native Youth Centre will allow us to consolidate and build upon our programs and services to better support Native youth on their road to independence and healthy living. New programs will include childcare, a gymnasium, resource centre, library, and more.
The Native Youth Centre is being developed in Vancouver by the Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) in partnership with Native youth. The LEED certified, 50,000 sq. ft. building will improve opportunities for youth and be a community landmark. It will consolidate and expand upon our existing programs to create an effective continuum of support, educational, training, artistic, cultural, and employment programs that will help youth to create positive change in their lives.
We have ongoing partnerships with a few key partners who are helping to raise funds and awareness about the Native Youth Centre. Please support these initiatives if you can by purchasing books, participating in the auction, or spreading the word amongst your networks.
